Diessou Kante, the founder of Jolieden’s Beauty Bar, started her business with two things in mind: giving everyone a safe place to express themselves creatively and unifying her community, no matter a person’s race, class, gender, or religion. It’s no secret that one sure thing shared amongst everyone is the desire to feel beautiful and confident in our very own way. Diessou and her team bring every person’s unique vision to life, from top to bottom.

Her motivation to open her own beauty bar and to one day become a franchise goes all the way back to her childhood as she watched her mother work at her own beauty station.

After braiding her clients’ hair, Diessou’s mother watched her clients walk out of the shop with a confidence that was originally missing when they first arrived. It was as though they suddenly remembered who they were, and Diessou knew she wanted to give that same reminder to people when she finally got the chance.
